Cocktail Cookbook

Journey to the End of the Night
1 1/2 oz anejo rum
1 oz Ethiopia Harrar coffee
1/2 oz simple syrup
1/4 tsp cocoa/cayenne mix (2:1)
Combine all ingredients in a shaker over cracked ice, shake like hell, double strain into a cocktail glass. Garnish with a dusting of cocoa and cayenne.
Recipe stolen directly from 1022 South, with the exception that I didn’t have the Ron Zacapa (still good with a lesser anejo), and I used the cocoa/cayenne mix I still have on hand for the Mayan Margaritas. I did, of course, have the Valhalla Ethiopia Harrar on hand.  Duh.
While 1022 posted this as a morning drink for MxMo, I figure Journey to the End of the Night works for the Eve of All Souls, right?
Happy Halloween.
